Statement for the nomination as an ACCA Council Member

My name is Anastasia Chalkidou, FCCA from Athens-Greece, currently seeking your support at the forthcoming ACCA Council Elections. I am a graduate of the Accounting and Finance Department of the Athens University of Economics and Business, an ACCA member since 2011 and a proud mother of 2 children.

My professional experience

I initiated my 19-year career at one of the Big 4 firms in Greece as a senior auditor until 2007 when I joined the financial services sector as an IFRS senior expert. I was the first Greek to work as a Project Manager at the Accountancy Europe (FEE) in Brussels, Belgium representing the profession on international level. Since 2014, I co-founded Quantum BITS, a digitalized SME firm providing awarded Accounting, Tax, and IT consulting services to SMEs in Greece and abroad.

My contribution

I have been an active advocate of ACCA as a consultant, as a professional trainer and via my involvement with national and international organisations promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

I am a member of the ACCA Advisory Committee in Greece since 2017 and the International Assembly Representative and Chair of the ACCA Members Advisory Committee of Greece since 2020.

I am a proud host of the ACCA Practice Room, a platform launched by ACCA during the pandemic as a valuable communication and networking tool for practitioners from all over the globe.

I have participated as a speaker/moderator in numerous panel discussions on accounting matters related to SMEs and digital accounting always promoting the values and principles of ACCA.

My pledge

My belief is that we must be the change we want to see in the world! Our profession is a cornerstone of economic and societal progress and it is our duty to pass this message.
