Last week, all the newly elected Council Members from all over the world “flooded” the ACCA Headquarters at the Adelphi in London!

Among the 45 certified professionals who, from now on, will compose ACCA’s Council body, Anastasia Chalkidou, Quantum BITS’ co-founder and Accounting Director, was there to celebrate her first ever election. She received approximately 5,000 votes globally and was the 8th most voted out of all the nominees. She is also the first ACCA member from Greece to be elected to Council!

During a series of events, the members were officially appointed to their new positions, got to know each other and shared new ideas.

I am passionate about connecting our community and inspiring the accountants of tomorrow. Great things happen when we collaborate across jurisdictions and national divides”, stated Joseph Owolabi, the newly elected president of ACCA.

The Council Meeting marked the beginning of a new term for the governing body of ACCA and we can only look forward to seeing what’s in store for the global accounting community in the next years.
